Like A Fever
I'm peering out at you
from behind my boxes
from a pile of my dirty clothes
from a pile of my papers
a packet of seeds destined for soil
If I just keep moving I won't notice
a few weeds here and there
until there comes a day
when I give them the business
I remember when I had the time
for lemonade and rhythmed rhyme
an afternoon spent in a book
or dangling down a fishing hook
Summer is almost here, Hooray!
then I will be the King of Leisure
then my path will be clear I pray
there's no piles while pursuing pleasure
