Free to be a bum
I'm done. It's so weird I've gone from being insanely busy to not having a care in the world. I finished school on Friday. It was sad to say good bye to the kiddies. They were really sweet I took my year sevens on a scavenger hunt written by Leah's year sevens and then we spent the rest of the hour eating our treasures and reciting poetry. Now Leah and I have been taken it easy sleeping in and going to the park to read we are contemplating a trip either to Berlin or Amsterdam in the next couple days and then Leah's going to London at then end of the month and I'll do some traveling around the Czech Republic for awhile and then Marmar should be here!! Can't wait as far as I know the two of us are thinking of hungry -budepest thing and then down to Croatia for some major beach bummin -but we should discuss some details mar -I'll try to call you later on today. oh hey Anna and Mar have both asked about my number and it is +420776741782. I'd love to hear from you guys. So I've learned some pretty bizzar Czech traditions. During the easter holiday, which is quite big here the guys go around hitting the women with fertillity sticks (they're these pretty woven sticks with colorful ribbon at the top) and the girls give the guys easter eggs to make them stop but after a noon if the guys hit the girls with sticks the girls can throw water on them. Another bizzar tradition we just learned is that when you get married in the Czech Republic it is tradition for the groom's men to kidnap the bride and take her to the pub and then until the groom finds his bride all the drinks at the pub are on the groom. My cooperating teacher told me this tradition over lunch last week. I guess this happened to her on her wedding day but she's British and no one clued her in on the tradition and she didn't speak Czech so she was just really startled and confused to be setting in her pretty white dress in a dingy pub on her wedding night. Another interesting tradtion Leah and I witnessed recently was something to do with the spring equinox, we still aren't really sure we understoood it. We were on Charles brige and there was this scarcrow figure named Maronu who symbloizes winter that they threw of the bridge and then every one cheers. And then I guess for the winter solstice they burn witches??? but I'm not sure if my Czech friend was just pulling my leg. I'll do some research and get back to you. The more I learn the more I realize these Czech are a Crazy bunch, but really a lovely people. So thats the end of my little Czech folktales monolog. more later, love ya ~Em

i just wrote a ridiculously long comment. then this piece of shit they call computer/internet/technology lost it somewhere in cyberfreakinspace. (computers are not high on my list of b.f.f.l. right now as i've had my slackjawed face glued to one for days now) digital half of architecture project due next week. we're designing a computer museum, i wish i found the irony humorous. i have managed to successfully complete viewing of disc 2 season 3 of sex and the city (S.A.T.C.) during all this computer time though. i'm not addicted, i could stop anytime. started at episode 1, disc 1, season 1 a few days ago. at this rate i'll be done with the series thursday and be forced to move on to the next vulgar but hilarous retired tv show. (note: i really couldn't stop watching now if i tried, its probably like crack, but more superficial)
but hurray for you em! you make me proud, you international student teaching sensation!!! words cannot describe the elation i feel when thoughts of may 10-30 dance in my head. like sugar plum fairies. but cooler. until may 3 i'll be here in bozeman wrapt in academia. boo. checked out lonely planet website, good insights, tips, secrets posted blog style for anywhere by other travelers...
mind the off-season witch burning...maybe leave your dark cone hats at home for a few days until after easter...i remember the crazy swedes and germans having crazy witch talk around easter, for Walpurgis Night. went to debatable creepy cult-like bonfire party with host family where we sang songs around a huge- ass bonfire. and drank. kind of fun though.
ps my phone is: on
