first day of school shoes

so i tried to start school again today but turns out my class was cancelled. guess i'll try again later. shoulda gone skiing.

i've had quite a fine return to bozeman. slight damper put on the week when i pretty much got dumped my first day back. not pretty much, i got dumped. funny how that works. rollercoaster ride is over. feeling of being a total heel is lessening, have skied nearly everyday which works wonders for the spirit.

telemarking is by far my new favorite thing to do, beats out flower-arranging and jumping on that crunchy thin ice that forms over puddles. yep, i said it. it's that great. the urgency of finding a job to fill my off days at school has suddenly died and have new, greater understanding for those i would have previously called 'ski bums.' i'd like, now, to refer to them as friends of the mountain. friends i am envious of for having the ability to slough life's responsiblities and, instead, play outside 7 hours a day while working on goggle tan. but worry not, i am burdened by my excitement for a class and some structure in my daily life. so you won't have to come summon me from a van in the parking lot of the ski hill, i'm keeping my room in the 'city'.

thank you guys for an incredible 'anna-fest: winter edition' what a time! you are all so fabulous. so glad i got to come back to see you, hope it's been a good return to school life [em, kate, joe] and an anxious preparation for new journeys [anna, reid]. are sonja and abbi and reid on the blog?
