Join the Bemidji Area Climate Change Coalition (BAC3) for a weekend of action and education!
Reception and Fundraiser
On Friday evening, September 22nd at 7:30 PM at Voyageurs High School, (in the old Stats building at Union Square), the public is invited to a reception and fundraiser. This event will feature Polar Explorer Will Steger, Fresh Energy’s science policy director J. Drake Hamilton, and White Earth Land Recovery Project Director Winona LaDuke. Please come and enjoy live music, beverages, some great exchanges of information, and learn about ways to support the Coalition in their efforts to combat climate change in the Bemidji area and beyond.
Breakfast and Talk About with Will and J.
On Saturday morning, September 23rd at 10 AM in the Lower Lakeside Union on the Bemidji State University campus, campus and community members are invited for a light breakfast with Will Steger and J. Drake Hamilton. This will be an excellent opportunity to discuss, in an informal setting, the issue of climate change and what can be done about it.
First Ever, Bemidji Air Fair
If all motor vehicles on American Roads had properly inflated tires, we could, in one years time, conserve the equivelant of all the oil under the Alaska Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and eliminate the emission of thousands of tons of greenhouse gases.
Weather permitting, on Saturday afternoon, September 23rd, from 1-4 PM, the BAC3 and volunteers will be ready to check your cars tire pressure and fill ‘em up. The first ever Bemidji Air Fare! will take place by Paul and Babe at the downtown Lake Bemidji Waterfront Park. Do your part to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by making sure your vehicle is efficient – and join us for live music and other the festivities under the Rotary Pavilion!
