stay away leap day

i have an announcement. i'm going to have my first martin sexton -live- experience thursday. it's already the highlight of my week. wish you all could be there with me for the first time. kind of like my first folk fest. and my first trip to the gyno last week. but not really.

another highlight: the cusp of a new month. the whole february changing days thing amuses me. my swedish dad has only had 11 true birthdays. poor guy. i wonder if he feels youthful. or cheated.

did i hear mention of anna and joe tickets? oh how grand it could be! i have lonely planet and fodor's eastern europe guides... anna, i'm that girl in the front of my ethics class. getting emotional. you'd be proud. and i think i'm coming home for my spring break march 13-17...

katie! viva la mexico! when thinking of you in your latin paradise i envision you being wooed and cooed by handsome hombres. i hope this is true. and umbrella drinks. please say there's been an umbrella drink. or at least a deeply enriching cultural immersion and maybe a new friend or two...

can i just say blogging is my new favorite sport? i love you guys. blog on mis amigas.

Hello Sweeties

I'm ending my beautiful italain vaction. All this traveling and sight seeing has made me miss you guys. I've had such a lovely week. All together I spent a couple days in venice a couple in florence and about four in rome. So many beautiful sites. My favorite were the cats. I guess a herd of them hang out in the ancient ruins in rome, and all the old italian women come by and leave them tuna. something about it was creepy and romantic at the same time. on my last day in rome I met an older getlemen named milan we had a couple hour long coversation about life. it felt good to connect with someone, it's been a while. he was really lovely he reminded me of an older french sam elliot (that mustached guy in the big labowski) Now I am waiting in some northern Italian city not sure of the name udinie I think??? The train leaves at midnight back to prague. I then I'm back to lesson planning and being grown-up for six more weeks, can you guys beleive that I'm half way done. Mar I'm really looking forward to your visit any ideas on what you want to see and do. I already have a couple pubs all picked out as well as a couple raunchy dance clubs. Anna, Your weekend sounded so lovely, wow. I miss all the good times I've had at your place... really looking forward to a summer together, lots of swimming and drinkin beer. man I just really miss you guys can't wait till

I love hearing of your adventures shmem! I can't believe you are in Italy! Are you in the midst of the olympic excitement at all? We are sure having fun watching the sports. It is true your life sounds like an extravagant Lewis story, I am trying my hardest to live vicariously through you! I got to talk to Katie the other day after a long game of phone tag! I still have trouble believing that we are so far away from each other! I will be sure to keep you posted on my life and await the many adventures you all have to share with me!! Love you !!!!

fuckin Italy!

I'm off in about twenty minutes to take the year nines to Pride and Prejudice and then at 2:30 I'm free! It's been so lovely to hear from you guys this week, really makes my days. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! that was friday I had to rush off becuase I was late for class. and now I'm in fuckin Italy. wow.so gorgeaous. I'm in florens right now. yesterday was venice. and I think I'm in love. I started out the train ride with a train of ten italien soccer players at one point roberto and stephon were kissing me on both sides of the neck, every single italian sterotype you have ever heard is true.Venice was beautiful leah and I bought hashesh off of 17 year olds, the carnival was going on so every one was dressed in masks and I feel like I'm telling a louis story but it's all true. I think were going on a bike tour tomarrow and then it's rome. I only have a couple minutes left love you guys ~Em
P.s I love how the puny grape vines in the vinyards are bound together with posts so that it looks like the italian country side is lined with stickmen and the water in venice is a deep green tourgois and eeeee I miss you guys gots to go love you, Em

I'm goin to It'ly

Hello Hello! So I've had a bizarre last couple of days. After the disco dance on valentines I went out to this really great Indian restaurant. So fun there were belly dancers and everything. Turns out I ate something that didn't agree with me and got sick. Missed school the next day and spent yesterday lazing about the flat. Leah comes after school and forces me out of my pajamas and into the rain. There after we go to this secret travel agency and walkout half an hour later with train tickets to Italy for Friday. I can't believe I'm going to Italy tomorrow! It's an open ticket so we can get off anywhere between Venice and Naples. I'm not sure how far down we'll get, but we have all of next week to explore becuase it's a school holiday. No research has gone into the trip so we'll see how smooth it goes. If you guys have any tips I'm eager to hear them. So that's my news I'll try to keep you posted on how the journey goes. Yikes gotago. I have major lesson planning for next period. love you, EM

i can't believe i'm blogging

em, you never cease to amaze me. this is really exciting to me. i feel so techy. maybe i'll join facebook now. and start a web page. and learn how to hack into very important places and read very secret things. maybe take over the world via my megagigcentrinowordprocessingbitbyte machine. is there like a blogging code of ethics i should be following?

may have had the greatest weekend doing nothing i've ever had. intense weeks mean breath of fresh air on weekends, right? i feel like i'm hogging the blog. maybe i'll ration my turn...

p.s. i'm so stoked about this! i just love reading your voices!

HELLO! I don't know if anyone else besides shmem and I have logged on yet but it is a brilliant idea! I can't wait to hear how all of you are doing! Katie, I have had such trouble getting ahold of you and Mar Mar, I can't imagine how busy you are designing the next historic building! Life is good in Turtle River, Joe's Birthday is on Sunday and we will be going fishing and having dinner with the two fams. Yesterday we had a nice day off of school and This Monday is the First STAR retreat. Last thursday we went to a STAR training with a guy named Stevie Ray and it was awesome. It was all about team building and communication and it was really helpful and fun. I finally got Joe to watch Babe! I forgot how great that movie is. It brings you back to childhood. and now I want to live on a little farm like Hogget does. :) Someday. I hope all of you have a great weekend! LOVE YOU!

Hey guys I thought this could be kind of a fun way to chit chat, hopefully it's not too geeky. I'm too lazy to write emails and for some reason this seems like less work to me. So when you get a chance post what you've been up to. I'm near a computer monday-friday. So this weekend for me is looking pretty mellow. I think perhaps some sight seeing there a czech pub I've been meaning to czech out and the rest we'll see, some crumping might be in order. I'm releived it's friday. Teaching is pretty exhausting especially when you stay up late the night before drinking wine. I think I'm headed over to Ireland for a week next saturday if everything works out. I'll keep you posted. aujoi (I think that's how you spell it) it means good bye in Czech
